Documentary Case Study 1
Project: Sustainability Initiatives
Summary: We have been working with Coca-Cola for three years during which time we have travelled to all corners of the globe to shoot documentary content, highlighting their sustainability initiatives. In 2014, we were named their center of excellence for content creation, which means we have also been tasked with developing a social media strategy. This involves thoroughly testing different content approaches on their various different social media channels. As an example, we are using Coca Cola’s internal web analytics to measure the relative performance of short form vs. long form content.
Documentary Case Study 2
Summary: We filmed this short documentary video in March 2015 for Coca-Cola’s women empowerment programme 5by20. We have now filmed over ten documentaries in the 5by20 series and Candy is just one of the many inspirational women we have met around the world. We’re proud to be working with Coca-Cola to tell their stories and hope that it brings inspiration to female entrepreneurs everywhere.

Project: Active Healthy Living
Summary: Olympic Moves is the Netherland’s largest secondary school sports competition bringing together high school students from across the country. Participants in Olympic Moves can choose from 18 different sports including tennis, swimming, badminton, as well as newer sports such as street dance and floorball. Olympic Moves is a key part of Coke Europe’s commitment to encouraging healthier and more active communities.
Aaliyah stood out because she had been kicked off her team but really worked hard to dance with her teammates as part of the competition. Through the story of Aaliyah we were able to show the transformational impact that involvement with Olympic Moves can have for young people. At the same time we wanted to highlight the scope and size of Olympic Moves with cinematic footage from the final event. The end result was video which performed extremely well on social media when it was released to the Netherlands market.

Project: Active Healthy Living
Summary: In Poland we created a series of short video documentaries of an inter-generational kayaking trip. This trip brought together a mature generation in their 70s and 80s who had been kayaking for many years with younger inexperienced kayakers in their teens. The idea was to kayak together and bridge the gap between these two generations as they went up the river. We really wanted to emphasize the movement of the kayak and grandeur of the river. To that end we used lots of rigging and cameras. This included using drone footage sweeping across the river, tracking the kayakers up and down the river, and over and under bridges.
It has also necessitated that we respond quickly to meet changes in their marketing strategies. For example, in the case of Olympic Moves video project Coca-Cola decided to make a last minute change to release the video in three different language markets (Netherlands, Austrian and English). This required us to produce multiple language versions of the video on a very tight schedule.
