The desire to share in each other’s stories is ingrained in us, and Publicis Group’s New York branch ‘Le Truc’ have smashed it out of the park with their new Tik Tok commercial ‘You Have To See It’. Drawing on @samanthasoe’s viral video, the commercial beautifully portrays the bonding nature of sharing stories. A strong reminder that you have the power to not only engage viewers but to also entice them to share and become part of your story.



A beautiful film from last year that’s not to be missed is Sian Heder’s CODA. This heart-warming coming of age film looks at a family learning to communicate. CODA (Child of Deaf Adults) tells an incredible story of a family learning to communicate. This piece is a massive leap forward for the representation and inclusion of people from the d/Deaf community on film. A lesson in the art of storytelling through perspective.


CHE Proximity’s Virgin Australia commercial shares a simple message we can all relate to. ‘You Can’t Keep a Good Thing Down’ features 12 year old Annie Jones rocking out through a seemingly empty airport to INXS hit ‘What You Need’. This commercial is all about the joy we feel in the moment we are granted the freedom to fly again. Whatever age you are, that inner child is present in those moments of excitement. This piece of content provides us with a timely reminder of this.



Hyundai’s ‘Humanity Prevails’ commercial is very emotive. You know when you see something that makes you cry while you’re laughing? This is that. As part of their #thisisus campaign, this piece showcases how truth and honesty through storytelling can truly engage your audience by saying “this is me, this is you, this is us, and we made it through”. When creating content don’t be afraid to put your heart on your sleeve. Your viewers will admire and connect with your honesty.
