Career Explainer Film

Do you find that there are certain job roles that are difficult to explain?

The Association For Project Management came to us with a problem: nobody knows what a project controller does. So we set about gathering Project Controllers at different stages in their carers and asked them to appear in a film where we could ask what they do and how they do it.

A day of interviews was scheduled in a South London studio. We knew we wouldn’t be able to capture B-roll of each person doing their job, but we also knew that talking heads alone do not retain viewers’ attention, so we brought on an illustrator who drew what each project controller imagined their legacy to be.

This resulted in two campaign films. This is the longer version, which gives us more of an insight into each person’s personality. This edit allows the Project Controllers time to tell us their stories. Another film we created got straight to the point and explained what project controllers do. This was focussed more on the core audience of project managers and those considering a career in project management. Social cuts were also created in 9×16, 16×9 and 1:1.

A second version of the film was created for an audience of professionals who wanted a quick answer to the question of what a project controller does.
