It’s estimated that more than a quarter of the entire US population use Instagram. It’s not suprising then that so many brands are looking to reach out to that massive audience using Instagram video. The limit on video length means that companies need to make sure the 14 available seconds count. In the beginning of June, the Warriors faced off against the Heat in the NBA Finals, and at the end of June, the league came together for the NBA Draft. These high profile events meant that there was a large amount of interest from fans, as well as a big opportunity for behind the scenes videos, interviews, or videos of the NBA Final games. The American and Canadian actor, producer, author, TV personality, and professional wrestler, takes the 3rd spot on this list. Dwayne Johnson has 20.6 million followers, and in June, his Instagram videos got overall 37.9 million views, more than his YouTube and Facebook views combined. “The Rock” had the movie San Andres coming out at the end of May, which meant that most people were seeing it in June, and therefore going to check out his Instagram page. He also had a new TV show, Ballers, which premieres at the end of June, to solid reviews. He also appeals to a wide audience, seeing that he has done so many different jobs over the course of his life.

Salice Rose is an Instagrammer specifically known for her videos. Her Instagram is mostly videos, with only the occasional picture. In June, all of her Instagram videos gained an overall 37 million views. She also gained 351k new followers over the course of the month.

Even though she has only posted 64 videos ever on her Instagram, her 37.7 million Instagram followers make sure to at least give an average view of 850,000 views to each, In June, her videos got 28.9 million overall views, an insane number seeing that she really did not post that many videos in June. Taylor is currently on her 1989 tour as well as being in a new romance with Calvin Harris. She has a huge following by people who call themselves “Swiftie”, a large amount of them millennials.

Chris Brown is a 25 year old R&B singer from Virginia. His Instagram has 11.6 million followers. Out of his over 500 posts, only a little over 100 have been videos, however those videos have an average viewing of 386,000. For June, the views of all of his videos were 26.5 million. However Instagram is not the social media site with the most amount of views, YouTube is, probably for all of the music videos he has done.

Justin Bieber is a 21 year old musician from Canada, who was discovered through YouTube. His fanbase, the “beliebers” are mainly millennial girls. He has 33.1 million followers on Instagram. Justin is another person who does not really post a lot of videos on his account, but like other people on this list, generates a huge amount of views because of the people who follow him. His views for the month of June were 25 million. He also gained 2.8 million new followers over the course of June.

Makeup and beauty Instagram’s always do extremely well in INstagram, and that is the case for Vegas Nay as well Her main social media site is Instagram, with her only having 25,000 followers on Twitter and 161,000 followers on Youtube. in June she gained 498,000 more followers

Zach King is a Vine star based out of Los Angeles. He makes magic videos, videos that have been edited in a way that makes it look like he is doing magic. His main social media website is Vine, however he is up and coming on Instagram. Because he is already securely known on Vine, people who really like him may check out other forms of social media and come across his Instagram page. His specific video account currently has 233,000 followers on Instagram (to his 3.4 milion followers on vine.) However, on Instagram he only has 11 videos, and the views on those videos amounted to 691,000 views. His regular Instagram account has over 5 million followers, some of which probably also follow his video account.

Instagram is an up and coming media site for videos that more companies and groups should capitalise on. The videos also are very easy to make seeing that they can only be 15 seconds long. Instagram is a great app for on the go filming as well, if a shoot is going on and someone wants to quickly get a video of some behind the scenes footage. In such a fast paced world, the 15 second video is a really great way to connecet with audiences from all around the world.
