Wellington Hospital App Employee Training Video

New technology can simplify tasks for both your employees and your customers. But familiarising your employees with that new technology and ensuring it is used efficiently presents challenges. Employee training videos provide a cost effective and convenient way to train staff in new technology. Here we’ll look at how we helped Wellington Hospital with training their staff in the use of a new patient booking app.

About the Client: Wellington Hospital

Wellington Hospital is the United Kingdom’s largest independent hospital. Located in St John’s Wood in North London it specialises in providing neurosurgery, gynaecology, rehabilitation, and cardiac services.

Overview of the Wellington Hospital Video

Prior to our work for Wellington Hospital we already had experience working with Southhampton General Hospital to create a charity video for their Leukaemia Busters research team. So when Wellington Hospital approached us to create a training video for a new app we were confident in our ability to work within a clinical environment.

Employee Training Video Wellington HospitalWhen filming inside of a hospital it is important to be aware that you are working within a sensitive space. You need to be particularly aware of the needs and confidentiality of the patients. In order to prevent disruption to the important and time critical work that health workers are engaged we keep our crew and equipment to a minimum.

Pre-production planning is extremely important with careful selection of which team members we sent on the shoot and how we equipped them. At the same time we need to balance minimising our presence while ensuring that we would be able to deliver the same level of high quality film-making that we would for any of our other clients. Part of this pre-production planning involved performing a recce to ensure that all crew members understood fully the space that they would be filming in.

WWellington Hospital Employee Training Videohen it came to filming we were working with health workers whose time was extremely scarce. This meant that we need to shoot fast while still keeping health and safety considerations always in mind. The final video was used purely as an internal training piece. While the video would never be viewed by an external audience we were careful to collect the release forms and permissions from all of those who were filmed.

Through careful planning we were able to capture all of the footage we required within a single day of filming. We worked to a tight deadline and we were able to turn around the video within 48 hours. The end result was a video that Wellington Hospital were very happy with and which allowed them to efficiently train employees in the use of their new booking app.
