PMQ Qualification

Bold Content Video partnered with the Association for Project Management (APM) to create an engaging explainer animation that highlights the value of the APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ). This animation is part of APM’s mission to inspire and support professional growth in the field of project management.

We used the motif of bridges being built to tell the story of how a project manager’s career might progress, thanks to the APM qualification. It’s also a nice symbol for bringing people together towards a common goal, which is what project managers do. And it was a great way to incorporate the APM logo into the video at the end, in a creative and memorable way. 

Bold Content took APM through their established process of designing style frames, then storyboarding, before finally animating and adding sound design to the video. This process ensured we kept our client informed at every step of the way. 

This animation established a new style for APM. The client brief mentioned that they had produced animations before but they were not happy that the style truly represented the brand and they were keen to establish a ‘house-style’ they could use going forwards. We have since worked on several animations for APM using this style to tell different stories. 

The animation emphasizes how the PMQ enables project professionals to elevate their skills, validate their knowledge, and demonstrate a commitment to delivering successful outcomes. It also showcases the qualification as a recognized pathway to achieving Chartered Project Professional (ChPP) status, reinforcing its importance in career progression.

Through visually compelling storytelling, the animation covers key topics included in the PMQ, such as project lifecycles, sustainability, planning for success, diversity and inclusion, and budgeting and cost control. It highlights the flexibility of the program, offering two routes for candidates: studying through accredited training providers or self-study, with the option to take the exam anytime and anywhere.

The video reflects the broader societal benefits of project success, driving home the message that when professionals invest in their development, it leads to improved project outcomes and a positive impact on communities.
