Get Started is a fantastic program run by the Prince’s Trust which encourages and assists young people with developing valuable skills, gaining qualifications and finding employment. It is now well recognised that the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) disciplines provide an excellent pathway to fulfilling and financially rewarding work. When Get Started put on a Robotics and Makerversity event we were on hand to capture all of the fun to turn into a promotional video.
Our Relationship With The Prince’s Trust
We are the Prince’s Trust preferred provider of video content. We regularly film live events for them and documentary style corporate videos. They are used in a mixture of fundraising, internal communications and promotional capacities. We have interviewed a large variety of people for their videos from celebrities to top business leaders. However, our most common interview subjects are young people, most of whom come from vulnerable or disadvantaged backgrounds.
The Get Started Initiative Promo Videos
One of the great projects that we were involved in is the Get Started initiative where young people following a week long course where they improve their communication skills, learn to work in teams and receive guidance to help them choose a career path that motivates and activates their abilities. The Get Started videos were used to promote the courses and motivate more young individuals to get involved and move forward with their lives.
Filming The Get Started Videos
The promotional video we shot for Princes Trust was focused on encouraging young people to pursue STEM related subjects. This involved a week long course where the participants had the opportunity to design and build their own robot which was then used in a “robot wars” style combat or they could build their own electronic instrument using 3D modelling and printing. This project also involved us interviewing Will.I.Am helped to fund the courses.
The End Result Of The Get Started Videos
Overall, the project was very well received both by the Prince’s Trust and the target youth audience. As a result we continue to be the Prince’s Trust preferred provider for video production. Due to our on-going relationship with the Prince’s Trust we now have a video production team that is extremely experienced with working with younger interview subjects. We understand how to produce authentic and emotionally engaging interview content while respecting the interview subject.
