The brief
Ancestry sent us a brief requesting a Christmas infographic animation for the holidays. They wanted to make a video detailing the findings of a survey they conducted with people in the United Kingdom. We had a lot of room to be creative with the style.
Animation
This video we created for AncestryDNA was a particularly fun one.
We first received the script from the client. It detailed where the most popular Christmas traditions originated from.
This was an intriguing theme in itself. We wanted to create a colourful video to reflect the diversity of the UK Christmas traditions. We first created a visual description of our assets, and explained how the visuals would correspond to the script. After the client was happy with our descriptions, we created a few style frames for their reference.
These style frames were made up of very simple but visually pleasing animations. The client was happy with the style and ‘feel’ behind the images, so were able to continue with the actual animation.
We finished off the animation with a cheerful soundtrack to reflect the inspiring time surrounding Christmas.
