Studio Graphene
Studio Graphene, a London based tech company, commissioned us to create a recruitment video. They sought to hire programmers, designers and top talent from the world’s best universities. But, the Tech Giants are offering Sky-High salaries and benefits packages that smaller businesses just can’t match.
So, we started working on some ideas for a creative recruitment video. We knew that the video needed to be visually captivating and emotionally resonant, embodying the core of the company’s mission and principles, whilst setting Studio Graphene apart from competitors. Our goal was to incorporate authentic employee testimonials, showcasing the positive aspects of working for Studio Graphene.
We closely collaborated with Studio Graphene’s HR and marketing teams, guiding them through our defined creative strategy process to understand the company’s culture, values, and unique selling points. Which includes an exploration into the audience, competitors and aims for the recruitment video.
When looking at Studio Graphene’s employer brand it was clear that we needed to set it apart from competitors within the tech space in order to attract the best talent. We conducted a competitor analysis to look at the employee value proposition of other London based tech companies and studied how they communicated to prospective candidates via video.
Instead of simply making use of talking heads as was the status quo with many competitors, the Recruitment Video needed to be visually captivating and emotionally resonant. It really needed to unveil the core of who Studio Graphene are, their mission and value as an employer.
At the same time the video also needed to appeal to The People – new potential hires primarily, but also to make the current staff proud to work at the company, to boost retention rates.
To do this, we knew the recruitment video had to meet people at a human level, showcasing an authentic look into Studio Graphene’s collaborative work environment and kinship amongst their co-workers. When planning we asked ourselves, what the audience should remember a week after watching the recruitment video. The key sentiment we wanted to communicate? A genuine passion, excitement and interest for the work.
From our research we found that graduates highly value the ability to be creative when applying for jobs. So, we needed to show Studio Graphene as a creative and innovative place to work whilst also highlighting career advancement opportunities available.
Our collaboration with Studio Graphene resulted in a recruitment video, with fantastic outcomes. The video successfully conveyed genuine passion, excitement, and interest in Studio Graphene’s work. By showcasing code on a large screen, we highlighted the creativity inherent in the work and demonstrated the team’s pride in their accomplishments. Communicating to potential recruits that their work will be celebrated, admired, and valued.
We created a social cut down version of the recruitment video to appeal to audiences who want to dip in to get a top level understanding of life at Studio Graphene. This acted as a breadcrumb to entice viewers to watch the more in-depth version which details the many reasons why a job seeker would want to work at the cutting edge studio.
Our collaboration with Studio Graphene has yielded a recruitment video that effectively captures the essence of Studio Graphene’s culture, values, and unique offerings. By highlighting the company’s pioneering projects, collaborative work ethos, and commitment to career advancement, the video serves as a powerful tool for attracting top-tier talent from around the world. Through creative storytelling and visual engagement, we have successfully differentiated Studio Graphene from its competitors, showcasing the genuine passion and excitement of its team members. As a result, the recruitment video not only meets its objectives but also leaves a lasting impression on viewers, inviting them to become a part of Studio Graphene’s dynamic and innovative work environment.
